HUD CoC - Electronic Grant Process

For FY2008, the HUD CoC application was fully electronic utilizing E-snaps.  As a reminder for all agencies renewing their CoC funded projects, your agency must be registered and current with Central Contract Registration.  All potential new agencies, those who will request HUD CoC funding for the first time in FY2009, please visit the Central Contract Registration website and complete registration for your agency.  In order to register, your agency must have a Dunn and Bradstreet Number (DUNS).  First-time registation may take up to four (4) weeks to complete. The website is www.ccr.gov for addtional infomation.

CoC Quarterly Reports

As a reminder, quarterly reports are due to Sherri Boyd within seven (7) days at the end of the Quarter.  These reports are based on the project grant year.  If your project is able to generate an accurate report from HMIS, you will no longer be required to submit a paper report.  Contact Sherri Boyd at 713-739-7514 if you are unsure of your project quarterly reporting periods or if you are able to generate an accurate APR from HMIS.

Federal Register - October 31, 2006 - Electronic Registration

HUD has announced through the Federal Register dated October 31, 2006, the Notice of Opportunity to Register Early and Other Important Information for Electronic Application Submission via Grants.gov; Notice.

Please read through the Federal Register and the Registration Brochure.  According to the Federal Register, HUD expects to release grant opportunities the end of 2006 or the first of 2007.  Now is the time to register for electronic submission as this process takes anywhere from two (2) to four (4) weeks to complete.  We do not know at this time if the Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Grant will be included in the electronic submission process.  For the past two-years the Continuum of Care was the only paper application in the SuperNOFA announcement and HUD has promised that the Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Grant application will be submitted electronically at some point in time.  To get information regarding the Federal Register publication and the Registration Brochure, click on this link:  http://www.hud.gov/grants/index.cfm.

We strongly recommend that your agency register at Grants.gov as soon as possible so that if the Continuum of Care application is an electronic submission during the 2007 SuperNOFA process that everyone will be ready.  If you have any questions, please contact our office.
