The goal of the Houston/Harris County/Fort Bend County Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Project is to help required agencies enter US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) data into a national database. A collaborative effort to fulfill the initiatives of HUD in the above mentioned areas has been in effect for five years. The project is guided by a HMIS Steering Committee consisting of representatives from  Continuum of Care (CoC) agencies in Houston, Harris County TX, and Fort Bend County TX. Agencies that address special concerns such as domestic violence, mental health, and substance abuse are also represented.
